Prayer
We are passionate about prayer in our church and we meet to pray together on Wednesday at 12:00pm and 7:30pm. You are very welcome to join us — see the weekly schedule for other activities. During our evening prayer meeting we also have a short video message which is shown here. Roughly every six weeks we also hold a special week of prayer with daily gatherings and a twelve-hour Saturday prayer.

Week of prayer
A focused time to seek God together as a church family, repeated throughout the year about every six weeks.
Our week of prayer is for everyone who wants to draw near to God with us: members, friends, and anyone curious about Jesus. You can come to as many gatherings as you like; there is no pressure to pray aloud. It is a gentle rhythm of meeting, listening, and bringing our community and world before God in prayer — a pattern we return to about every six weeks.

Add all subscribes to the week-of-prayer feed — look under Other calendars on the left and make sure Week of Prayer is ticked. If Google shows a URL error, open Settings → Add calendar → From URL and paste https://www.thornepentecostalchurch.co.uk/assets/calendar/week-of-prayer-2026-06.ics. To add one meeting at a time, use the links above. For Apple Calendar or Outlook, download the .ics file.

Twelve hours of prayer
On the Friday night and Saturday morning we will be praying for twelve hours (7:00pm to 7:00am). The time is split into one hour slots: individuals or households take a slot to pray in their homes (or wherever they are) during that time. You might pray quietly on your own, read the Bible, or pray with whoever is with you — the aim is continuous prayer throughout the night.
- Pause - take a moment to pause and reflect
- Rejoice - rejoice in the Lord and give thanks
- Ask - ask the Lord for anything you need
- Yield - yield to the Lord and let him work in your life

Prayer is a cornerstone of our church life — a quiet, open space to bring thanks, concerns, and hope before God.
