Meet our Pastor

A quick hello from Kevin.

Pastor Kevin Watts
Pastor Kevin Watts

Pastor Kevin leads our church family here in Thorne. He’s warm, approachable, and genuinely enjoys getting to know people — whether you’ve been in church all your life or you’re just curious what Sundays are like.

He cares deeply about families, our neighbours, and helping people meet Jesus in a way that feels real — not stuffy or complicated.

Families & children

We want children to feel safe, known, and valued — and parents/carers to feel supported.

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
— Philippians 4:13

Sunday services

Sunday — 11:00am & 6:00pm

Children and families are very welcome at our services.

What to expect

  • Do I just turn up? Yes. There’s no booking — come to the 11:00am or 6:00pm Sunday service when you’re ready. If you’d rather say hello first, you’re welcome to email Pastor Kevin (see Contact).
  • Will someone greet me? Yes. Our welcome team meets people at the door, helps you find a seat, and can answer practical questions (access, toilets, children).
  • What’s the format of a service? We sing, pray, hear teaching from the Bible, and share a few notices. Join in as much or as little as you feel comfortable with — no one will ask you to pray aloud or stand up and introduce yourself.
  • Is it awkward if I don’t know anyone? Many people come alone or as a family who are new to the area. You won’t be put on the spot; if you’d like quiet company afterwards, stay for tea or coffee and say so to the welcome team or anyone nearby.
  • More on the About page — dress, children in the service, and midweek gatherings.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
— Proverbs 3:5
